There wasn't a soul out at the farm today - Elsa is in hospital with JJ - so when I got there, I had to water the stabled horses.  After, I groomed Phoenix outside then we went for a walk around the upper pastures, across the road, then down the field past the big rock and I let him "graze" by the big ditch.  We jogged together for awhile and he was full of energy, so I did lunging in the upper field, then flexing, backing and yielding the hindquarters back at the barn.

Boys were much better today!  We took them back into the roundpen this afternoon to groom them and then I lunged Phoenix in the front yard next to the line of trees and he was great the whole time.  We also did some Yielding the Forequarters and Yielding the Hindquarters and tried to do some sidepassing but he got confused and started backing up.  Still need a fence for that one!  Onyx and I did Lunging for Respect 1 and he was much better than yesterday.  He acted up with Dave on the walk down to 14, though, so I took him and tried the C Pattern Exercise - he did good at first but then got confused and actually reared!  Went back to Lunging for Respect and then a couple more C Pattern to end on a good note!
