Very cold tonight, so went out to check on horses after work.  They were all snug in the barn.  Tried on Phoenix's new cheapie halter - fits well and looks great on him!

Phoenix got to learn something new today - yielding the forequarters.  We started off with a walk down the long driveway through some major snowdrifts, then we did the 4 backing methods and yielding the hindquarters in the hopes that would ease him into the FQ.  It was a rough start and he ws getting frustrated, trying to figure out what I wanted.  When I started applying more energy with the hand by his face and less with the handistick by his withers, he got it, so we ended after 4 pretty good tries.  I then desensitized him to the lead rope and flexed him.

Bought biotin for Onyx's feet at Brubacher's today  starting with 1/2 a scoop.

I had planned on riding the horses today, but it started to do a heavy mist while we were grooming them and it turned into a downpour just about the time we finished, so back into the corral they went.  We did put some "Today" in their hooves for thrush.
