Quick check on the boys after a dentist appt and supper.  Phoenix was a big suck - very affectionate and quiet.  Dave went for a walk around the perimeter of the paddock and Onyx followed him - in the cold and dark  the whole way! 😊

We had a major snowstorm come through on Wednesday and it was only today (2 days later) that the roads completely opened up, so Dave and I went to see the boys after work.  They were just coming in for the evening and were very content to stand and eat while we mucked their stalls  I did flexing by the ear with both - Onyx is great with it; Phoenix hates it, so he does it grudgingly, but he is doing well with sidepassing off my fingertips.  Groomed them and gave buckets before we left.

Took the boys for an extra-long walk this afternoon, even though it was exceptionally cold still.  I think our high was -8C.  We crossed 14 and went further down Substation than we've ever gone before.  Onyx is still "rarin' to go" but Phoenix was very quiet and I think they both appreciated the exercise and change of scenery.  We put them in the side pasture this afternoon and they were in heaven, nosing through the snow to get at the grass we seeded in the fall.
