Bitterly cold today, so I groomed Phoenix in the barn and took him for a walk rather than a ride.  He was very antsy to get ouside so we walked town Settlement Road to the intersection, then I backed him for a bit and did some flexion before returning.  I had to desensitize him to a lot of garbage and he was sliding all over the ice, trying to move away from the ditch where the creek runs through.  Checked on Onyx and brought him some treats before I left, too.

A -24C windchill last night and a high of -18C windchill today, so we just let the boys be in the shelter most of the day.  We filled their water tank this afternoon, de-wormed them, then gave them a special treat of a warm bran mash for being so good.  We blanketed them this evening, then led them around and did a little yielding of the hindquarters so they remembered what it felt like to have straps everywhere.  Gave them some of the Phillips' alfalfa hay for supper tonight to keep their bellies warm!
