Phoenix was being a right jerk today and wouldn't let me catch him - he had just been turned out in the courtyard with a flake of hay but he was being utterly disrespectful and Elsa wound up having to catch him.  I backed him aggressively a long time afterwards and yielded his hindquarters.  Then I took him into the round pen and got him walking through 3' of snow until he always gave me two eyes, then I rode him bareback for a few minutes.  When I turned him loose, I kept going back and insisting he give me two eyes again which seemed to help.

We took the boys to the back pasture after breakfast today for a change of scenery again.  Dave took me to Dean Michael's for a Valentine's lunch and then we came back and did some work around the house.  We took the boys for a walk before their supper and spent a lot of time desensitizing to the trees along the driveway - they both spooked at the birds in there again.
