It was cold today but there was no wind and there was beautiful sunshine so we took the boys for a long walk.  Since Phoenix gave me such a hard time on Thursday, I decided to do a little reverse psych with him - I totally ignored him for several minutes when I came into the barn, made him give me 2 eyes in several places once in his stall and made him come to me to have his halter put on.  They both did very well on their walk and flexed at the end.

The boys both had their moments of naughtiness today but otherwise did very well.  Onyx kicked out while Ashley was lungeing him and when she tried to correct him, he slipped out of his halter and ran helter-skelter around the farm.  Once caught, he was perfect through the rest of the groundwork and Ashley rode him with the saddle and then both Amanda and she rode him double bareback with no issues.  Phoenix did circle-driving, yielding the forequarters in a full circle and the C-Pattern exercise perfectly, but he got worked up while I was riding him bareback and tried a little buck, but I stayed on!  I think Amanda running on the bales of hay and Onyx being loose really bothered him.
