It was sunny but cold today and Elsa was just turning everyone out when I got there so Phoenix was anxious to be with his friends and get his flake of hay.  I groomed him then took him for a quick walk up the road towards Boot Hill.  We did some flexing and yielding of the hindquarters, then I turned him out with his friends and stayed with him to remind him about facing me.

We were running a little late today, so Dave dropped me off then got Ashley, so I had to take Phoenix away from his morning hay and Onyx to bring him to the barn for his trim.  Then when we got in there, the Phillips were moving cows around so Phee was keyed up tight and would not settle until Dave brought Onyx in, so afterwards, Phee and I had a long walk alone so he was reminded about who to follow and who to trust!  We groomed the boys outside and gave them their buckets, then mucked stalls and took Ashley to lunch at Pizza Hut, where we had a heartfelt talk about leaving Second Chance Farm the way we did.

2nd beautiful sunny day in a row, with temps climbing to 4C by this afternoon.  We groomed the boys in the shelter then I bridled Phee and led him down the driveway and mounted by the road.  We went down to 14 and he did awesome - even with a snowmobile going around the fields.  I rode Onyx, too, and he was great going up towards Acey's - birds were flying up under his feet and he didn't bat an eye!  Dave had Phee walk through run-off water and he did great at that and they both backed in and out of the shelter, too!
