Celebrated JJ's 3rd birthday then taught Ashley how to do Lungeing for Respect 1 using Phoenix - we had to go slow since there's so much ice under the snow, but they both did well.  I tried to lunge Onyx, too, but he got all flustered and wound up falling twice because he wouldn't walk.  So we just did backing and yielding the hindquarters with both after that and some desensitizing.  I also did yielding the forequarters with Phoenix the proper way and he did much better out in the riding ring - he even sidepassed along the fence a little ways.

Snow showers today so the horses were wet and "icy" when we saw them tonight.  Gave them their hay and tried to groom them, but it ended up being more of a scraping.  I flexed them both by the ear and they did pretty well considering they were trying to eat!  We gave them their buckets as a reward.
