Warmer today but lots of wind and blowing snow.  Visibility was almost nil and the roads were covered, so I planned to just groom Phoenix in the barn.  He was bored to tears, though - he kept biting on the lead rope securing his stall door and tipped my grooming tote over twice, so I grabbed a lead and his halter and walked him up and down the barn aisle, then did some flexion and backing.  I decided on the spur of the moment to take a quick walk and we jogged and walked up and down the driveway several times.

Reading this made me cry - that was the spirit of Phoenix, right there.  He could say so much to me in all those little actions.  Such a clever, communicative horse.

It was a rare Friday night appearance since we had another massive snowstorm come through Wednesday night and the roads were a mess Thursday morning.  We gave the boys another "spa date" - Phoenix is starting to shed out due to the wild temperature changes lately.  We also took both Onyx and Phoenix for walks in the dark - it was kind of neat!  We did that separately, primarily due to bad timing on our part!  Flexed, yielded the hindquarters, then gave them treats.
