Beautiful day but the footing at the farm is still treacherous with frozen ruts and layers of ice everywhere.  Dave and I groomed Phoenix and Onyx, then we worked on some "spook" and "sacking out" techniques with Phoenix.  He was very good with all but the plastic bag tied to the whip, but he came around eventually.  With Onyx we worked on yielding the hindquarters with touch, flexion, and some desensitization, though he's not bothered by much - he walks up and smells it all!

It was a cold and rainy night.  😊  And I have a sore throat and Onyx was soaked through and miserable, so once again we couldn't take advantage of the daylight by going for a walk.  Instead, we groomed the boys and just hung out in the barn for awhile.  I trimmed Phoenix's bridle path with the clippers and he almost fell asleep on me - he even started drooling!  He was a huge cuddlebug, so they both got treats.

Dave took today off and I worked this evening, so we took the horses for a walk this morning.  Craig and his young friend, Brad, stopped by the house with Dave this afternoon, so they played with the kittens for awhile then groomed the horses in the roundpen.
