We only had about an hour with the boys today, so Dave cleaned out Onyx's run while I groomed Phoenix and worked with him.  I led him up the road and down towards Boot Hill, but the footing was really mucky after the rain and thaw.  We went past the driveway and I tried to get him to trot but he wouldn't, so I did some mini-lungeing to shake the cobwebs out!  On the walk back, I worked on getting him to stop and stand on "whoa" - I only had to lunge him once more and he caught on!

I messed up my back on Monday morning and spent 2 days at home, trying to ice it and rest.  So we rearranged our horse visits this week so Dave could do the majority of the stall-mucking.  I brought the boys out, one at a time, tonight and hooked them up to cross-ties while Dave cleaned out the stalls.  I groomed both horses (except for Onyx's feet, which I left for Dave!) and they both stood very well and gave me no problems - thank goodness!  Treats after, then home.
