Had the boys trimmed by Courtney today (Dave took the morning off) and we actually helped Elsa de-worm Onyx since she can't reach thtat tall head! (Phoenix was done Saturday.) Afterwards, we took the boys into the stone wall pasture and did the first few exercises in Gaining Respect and Control on the Ground - flexing, desensitizing to lead and stick & string, four backing methods, and yielding the hindquarters. I also did yielding the forequarters with Phoenix and he did great. Lots of ice under the snow so no lungeing yet.

Courtney came to trim the boys around 1:30 today, so we went out around 12:30 and got the boys "ready." We groomed them, then I did a test run up and down the driveway with Phoenix and he was fine. I did a lot of desensitizing with the stick & string then let him graze by the well. I took Onyx out on the road and did some Lungeing for Respect - Stage 1, backing and desensitizing. He did very well, too, except he didn't want to cooperate much during the trim.
