It was threatening rain and the wind was fantastic today so I groomed Phoenix in the barn, then we went for a walk up to "Boot Hill" and back.  We worked on flexion, backing, yielding the hindquarters, stopping on "whoa."

Courtney was supposed to come out on Thursday to trim the boys, but something came up, so she volunteered to give up a Saturday morning for the worst cases.  Since Dave was available and I had to work Scratch & Save, he went out and held Onyx, who's got some cracks on the back.  I will have Phoenix done next Thursday if all goes according to plan!

The boys came right up to the gate today when they heard my voice, and the grass has grown significantly while we were on vacation, so we took them on a grazing spree.  Phee seemd to be really afraid of some farm equipment, so I started the sending exercise and he almost ran me over.  That's when I realized he was actually spooking at a loose Great Dane and Cathy's brother, who were walking up the path!  Desensitized both horses to the woods again, then they both got baths and were generally pampered.
