Dave brought his dad out to the farm today to meet Onyx, so I went out ahead of time and got him ready.  I groomed him and got the rest of his mats out and then put fly spray on him and he stood perfectly.  We let him graze in the yard while we had a picnic, then Ron fed Onyx treats and we put him back and I got Phoenix.  I did some inaugural work in the roundpen, but I need to review technique.  I walked Phoenix around the areas that agitated him yesterday and he was better, but he pulled back when he got scared again.  Desensitization on Tuesday!

Megan was our personal assistant tonight!  She helped me catch and groom Phoenix then we both lunged him for a bit before she got on and rode him bareback for about 30 minutes in the riding ring.  I then roundpenned Onyx for awhile and she rode him with the saddle while I reinforced leg cues with the whip.  I took Phoenix back after Dave rode Onyx in the roundpen with Meg overseeing and coaching.  He was scared, but he did great!

Put the boys in the roundpen for breakfast then I turned them out on the side pasture for 90 minutes this morning.  It had started to rain pretty heavily by the time they were put back in the corral and they're calling for 20 mm tonight plus thunder and lightning.
