Dave and I took the day off today and spent the afternoon and evening at the farm.  We had studied Clinton Anderson's roundpen tape last night and used it on both of the boys today.  They were both very good and changed directions and gaits with little prompting.  I then desensitized them to the lunge whip, a white plastic bag tied to a whip, and an umbrella.  Afterwards, we let them graze for awhile, then put them away and had a barbeque with Rob, Elsa and Kym.  It was a great day off.

We thought Dirk was coming this afternoon to start planning out the roundpen excavation, so we went into town this morning and got groceries while the boys were in the roundpen.  When we got home, we discovered Dirk had called and postponed until Monday night.  We moved the horses to the back pasture, anyway, and let them graze for about 3 hours, then back to the roundpen until 8:00 p.m.  I did a bit of groundwork with Phee since he's still reluctant to go by the trees there.
