Rob and Elsa were just putting some of the finishing touches on the grass ring, so we took advantage of that. We groomed both Phoenix and Onyx inside it, then I tacked up Phoenix and did some passenger lessons at the walk and trot and also walked the 4-leaf clover pattern several times. Dave did groundwork with Onyx on the other end, including flexion, backing and leading him over a variety of poles and plywood boards. They were both very well-behaved - I wonder if the addition of a round bale has settled Phoenix down?

It has been windy, rainy, and miserably cold all weekend, plus Phoenix has nothing but grass in his belly, so he was a bit of a crackhead again today. I was shocked that he trotted up to me in the pasture, though! I roundpenned him until he stopped bucking and racing around, then Dave and I took him and Onyx for a walk up to the cows on the top of the hill. Rob and Elsa had a BBQ out at the farm after.

Another day getting home late - this time because of some serious traffic jams. Wound up coming home through Paris on Hwy 2. Did some "joining up" work with both horses in the corral for about 90 minutes.
