I had an excellent day in the round pen with Phoenix - he was responding perfectly to voice cues while doing groundwork, so I did a long passenger lesson at the trot and canter and held on to the horn with one hand until I felt confident letting go entirely.  I went out into the field with Kym afterwards and he went nuts on the way home when a tractor and roller scared him.  I had to get off and lead him home. I got back on in the driveway and rode him down Settlement, though, and he was calm again.

We were home all day today, so we fed the boys hay this morning in the corral, let them digest for a couple of hours and then I did the first roundpenning sessions with both of them before it got too hot.  Phee did a textbook turn the first time, then lost his marbles for awhile before he settled down again.  Onyx did a lot of trotting, but I only asked for the canter now and then because he's so out of shape!
