Roundpen work with Phoenix and Onyx tonight.  Phoenix was first, but I just did some light trotting and cantering since he was responding well to voice cues.  He did some great join-up afterwards and followed me all over the ring.  With Onyx, I worked on trotting and cantering, then desensitized him to the step stool.  Everytime he so much as moved when I stepped on it, I'd back him around the ring.  Tonight was bareback; I want to do another day with saddle.

Well, the boys and I had the excitement of a full-fledged thunderstorm while I was out there today.  It didn't rain while I mucked their stalls, but it was getting very dark as I cleaned their water buckets and by the time I finished sweeping, it was rumbling pretty good and had started to come down.  I brought their treats out to the pasture where they were grazing in the rain and lured them to the shelter.  They weren't too thrilled to be in there, though, and didn't stay in it long.

Dave and I had the day off and went to see Carole King and James Taylor tonight in Toronto.  Before we left at 4:00, we managed to get all the landscape ties cut and put in place around the roundpen.  We turned the horses out on the front pasture from 2:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., then called them back to the corral when we got home.  Also mowed the entire property this afternoon.
